Chinese medicine works to promote and support fertility. Both affective for treating men and women who are reproductively challenged, it can take some time to regulate the system. While most of my patients come to me already undergoing Western medical treatments for fertility (Assisted Reproductive Techniques, or ART), it can take 3-6 months of acupuncture treatments, accompanied by dietary and lifestyle changes to regulate the woman’s menstrual cycle. Having this baseline of health is important when moving into Western treatments and often increases the conception rates of women who have explored these alternatives first.

“I turned to acupuncture and Laura when my husband and I had trouble conceiving our first child. As a complement to our infertility treatments, acupuncture was suggested to help balance my body and reduce stress. A few months before our first IVF treatment I began weekly acupuncture appointments with Laura. Our first IVF transfer was a success and I continued to see Laura to help maintain the pregnancy. The treatments helped with my morning sickness and fatigue. After each session with Laura I felt more relaxed, slept better and was relieved of other common pregnancy ailments such as back pain. At the end of my pregnancy we used acupuncture as a means of naturally inducing labor. Laura provides a peaceful, relaxing and supportive environment. I am grateful for Laura’s help and I would highly recommend her.”
